1. Do you accept international health insurance?
Yes, we accept select international dental insurance plans and offer direct billing for patient convenience to minimize your out-of-pocket expenses.

02 | Important Policies for Direct Billing
Balance Responsibility
While we file claims directly with your insurer, patients are responsible for any remaining balance, co-pays, or uncovered treatments.
Payment Guarantee
We require all patients utilizing direct billing to leave valid credit card information on file to secure any balance not paid by the insurance company.
Short-Term Visitors
If you do not reside in Japan or are leaving the country soon, you will need to pay in full at the time of your appointment. We will provide all necessary paperwork so you can claim reimbursement directly from your provider.
03 | Other Insurance Providers
If your dental provider is not listed above, you will need to pay for your treatment upfront. We are happy to help you get reimbursed by providing insurance-ready documentation:
- Form Assistance: We will help you fill out your provider's specific dental claim forms whenever possible.
- English Documentation: All of our forms, treatment descriptions, and receipts are fully written in English.
- Standardized Dental Coding: Our receipts are officially coded with ADA (American Dental Association) codes to ensure fast and seamless reimbursement processing with overseas insurers.
2. Do you accept Japanese National Health Insurance (NHI)?
No, our clinic does not accept Japanese National Health Insurance (国民健康保険 / 社会保険).
Why We Choose Not to Participate in the National Plan
- Limited Coverage: Standard Japanese insurance does not cover many common cosmetic and restorative treatments, including white fillings, porcelain crowns, veneers, and dental implants.
- Commitment to Quality: National insurance restrictions and fee structures often limit the time, materials, and comprehensive care required for high-quality treatments.
- Our Care Philosophy: We treat every patient like family. Our goal is to provide exceptional, efficient, and comfortable dental care based purely on your best clinical outcomes—not insurance restrictions—to minimize your long-term dental risks.
Note: While we do not accept Japanese insurance, your out-of-pocket dental treatments may still qualify for a tax deduction in Japan. Please refer to the "Medical Expense Deduction" (医療費控除) section for details.
3. Do you handle dental emergencies?
Yes, we provide emergency dental care both during and outside of regular office hours. Please note that additional fees apply for after-hours visits.

International Patient Support & Languages
- Multilingual Support: We have Spanish-speaking staff on-site to assist you.
- Our Dentist: Our doctor speaks fluent English and some Chinese.
- Intake Documentation: All of our New Patient forms are provided in English.
Emergency Fees & Payment Policy
- Initial Exam Fee: The initial emergency examination—which includes a small diagnostic X-ray—ranges between 22,000 and 33,000 yen.
- Upfront Payment Policy: We do not require insurance pre-authorization. However, patients are required to pay the full cost of the treatment plan before the procedure begins.
- Payment Security: We accept credit cards, but if you are unsure whether your international card works seamlessly in Japan, we strongly recommend bringing cash (Japanese Yen) to ensure there are no delays in your care.
4. What is the cost of check-ups and cleanings?
Our fees include 10% consumption tax. The following is a breakdown of our examination and cleaning fees.

02 | Our Comprehensive Examination Policy
- Required X-rays: We require panoramic and bitewing X-rays taken within the last six months.
- Previous X-rays: Older or poor-quality X-rays may need to be retaken.
- X-ray Safety: Modern dental X-rays expose you to less radiation than a flight from Los Angeles to New York.
5. Do you offer Invisalign or orthodontic treatments?
Yes, we offer Invisalign for adults and interceptive orthodontics for children. Transfer cases require consultation before acceptance.
